I wasn't easily converted. I kinda liked my independence and travelling at my own pace, but now, I wouldn't travel any other way. It's so flexible and there's no hard n' fast rules. I'm saving heaps on fuel and vehicle wear and tear, and I get to relax when I'm not driving. If I'm lucky I even get a tip or two on what to cook for dinner! It's also nice to know I'm doing my bit for the environment. I'm hooked.

I wasn't sure about carpooling. I was new to the area and didn't know anyone, but it's neat. I've made new friends and learnt heaps about where I live. Although I've definitely saved money, the best thing after a stressful day is to share the high and lows and if I'm not driving I enjoy sitting back, relaxing and taking in the scenery. Who wouldn't want to carpool!

I like my own space but I don't like the rising petrol costs, so I logged on to Take A Mate. I had nothing to lose really. I've made friends and found that it's fun. We're really supportive of each other. On the days I don't drive, I enjoy being a passenger and obviously save heaps in petrol, which is great.

The opportunity to save money was my main motivation for carpooling, and it has been very successful. I have halved my petrol costs, and now we are looking for someone else to join us - the more the merrier.
